If we had to characterize my work, we could say that: both the paint on my sculptures and the paint on my paintings is totally expressionist, originating in tribal art, African art and Oceanic art, of course;
Naturally, we find all the sources of contemporary art and especially of modern art: Matisse Picasso Fernand Léger, or Basquiat in their freedom of tone. .....and tribal art as well; we also find compositional work: that is to say, a work of balance that is extremely classico-modern, naturally, the balance of lines, the balance of vanishing points and the balance of perspectives. In this, of course, I'm opposed to all these rather young paintings with large-format portraits with no foundation or horizon line, floating like before the Renaissance of the 15th century....
As far as the technical work is concerned, it's acrylic paint and you'll often see parts that have been .... one might say almost damaged, almost torn, but that's normal, it's part of my work, as Jean-Michel Basquiat or Picasso did - it's true that I often work on the ground a little compulsively, impulsively, and sometimes it's true that working with engraving styli and brushes....but it's part of this conjunction between creation, creativity and impulsivity! So it's part of the painting, it's not a mistake.
